As we all arrived for cricket training last night, we were greeted by the sight of former player (and first to score a century for the YMCC) Brendan “Wedge” Clarke toiling away with rake and shovel to clean up the forecourt of the Victoria Park Sports Pavilion (aka Lakers HQ).
While this action is simple enough in theory, it does take a great deal of time and effort to put into practice.
Wedge is heavily invested in the club.
He wants the club not only to perform at its best and he wants the club to be the best.
At all things.
At all times.

His example is one we can all take on board.
Adding to his amazing efforts to clean up, the mercury, at the time, was pushing past 37degC.
No expectations of thanks or reward.
Just a selfless act to benefit all at the club.

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
