At the 2023 W&DCA AGM last night, the clubs voted to accept the Strathbogie Cricket Club into the W&DCA for the
2023-2024 season. “The Mighty Panthers” will mostly likely field a team in “C” Grade, establishing the town’s first cricket team in over 30 years. While the 122km drive from Stan Hargreaves Oval to the Strathbogie Recreation Reserve will take about 90-minutes travel, it may well prove a good excuse for an overnight camp for “The Lakers”.
Great news for the competition and for local cricket to get Australia’s favourite game back up and firing in the Strathbogie Ranges. On behalf of “the Lakers” we offer our congratulations, extend a warm welcome, look forward to our first game and wish “the Panthers” the best of luck and every success.
